The Clear Choice
Clear aligners can be thought of as transparent retainers fitted to your teeth and jaw which are worn to correct mild to moderate orthodontic conditions. Clear aligners are created using a 3D printing technique to create an advanced orthodontic device which is carefully customized to your teeth in very nuanced and accurate detail. Because clear aligners allow you to straighten your teeth without having fixed bracket braces, they’re very convenient. In some cases, clear aligners can actually correct mild to moderate orthodontic conditions faster than traditional metal braces which attach brackets to your teeth.
Clear aligners and Invisalign use the same concept—fitted transparent aligners straighten teeth while maintaining a very discreet appearance. Invisalign is a brand of clear aligners and is the company who pioneered the concept. Invisalign has a range of proprietary software and other adjacent technologies which assist your orthodontist in projecting the final result of your treatment and making adjustments to your aligners as your treatment progresses in order to achieve optimal alignment. Other brands of clear aligners are very effective as well, but don’t necessarily include access to the same software and treatment details as Invisalign. So, Invisalign are clear aligners, but all clear aligners are not Invisalign. As with many things, the brand name of the company which pioneered the technology tends to become synonymous with the technology itself—in this case, leading casual observers to call all clear aligners “Invisalign”, when Invisalign is actually a brand of clear aligners.
As an Invisalign Elite Top 1% provider, we’re enthusiastic supporters of Invisalign and Invisalign Teen. As a Top 1% provider, we have completed more Invisalign cases and have more experience with Invisalign’s family of products than 99 out of 100 orthodontists. This allows us to provide the lowest prices on Invisalign treatments, and in many cases our Invisalign treatments are priced lower than traditional metal braces and other brands of clear aligners. If you’re considering clear aligners for your orthodontic treatment, we recommend that you schedule a free evaluation in our Thousand Oaks office, Oxnard office, or Carpinteria office. During an orthodontic evaluation we’ll assess your case and explain your treatment options, as well as provide you with our best recommendation. From there, you’ll be able to decide if clear aligners are the best treatment for your case.
